We've known Alicia for a long time, but it had been a several years since we'd seen her. She's such a strong lady, realizing a better life was possible and put herself through nursing school (with the amazing support of her future husband, Nelson) while raising their son and going to school. So, we were honoured to be a part of her and Nelson's special day. We're so happy for the two of you and you both looked amazing!
They planned an intimate, outdoor wedding on the outskirts of Barrie, at the Wilds At Cedar Valley golf course. It's nestled in a lovely treed valley with beautiful light peaking through the branches and leaves.
Our wedding day coverage started at a rented townhouse which the ladies used to get ready and take some fun photos. We loved their added use of colourful umbrellas and the fact that the bride and Tracey wore the same type of shoes (totally not planned lol) was a funny circumstance.
Just before the ceremony started Alicia wanted to have a first look with her son, Duncan, as she arrived at the venue and exited her vehicle. They shared some special mother/son moments before the ceremony, then he accompanied her down the aisle to happily see his parents get married. One of our favourite photos of the day that we captured, was her grandmother crying as she watched Alicia and Duncan make their way to the front. Candids make for some of the best photos.
As the sun set and the temperature dropped, we finished up a few last bride/groom photos just in time for DJ Mastermix to start spinning the tunes. Then it was time to party!
