Ryan and Jan's wedding theme was film noir and it really took me back to my college days, hanging out at Cineforum by Reg Hartt. The Midland Cultural Centre with it's talented staff of lighting and sound crew, really dialed in the look that the bride and groom were going for. Even our photo booth setup was top notch, we provided props and lighting and the staff created the perfect backdrop.
Our day began with some brief getting ready photos, then we met up with the wedding party, as well as family at Ste. Marie Park. We photographed the "first look" for Ryan and Jan, while their respective families watched. We then carried on doing wedding party photos before heading over to the main event.
Their theatre wedding ceremony was so unique and really allowed us some fun and creative options for how we could photograph it. Their officiant (Dan) was so gung-ho about legally being able to perform the ceremony for his dear friends, that he took a course to do so. Now that's a friend!
Cocktail hour was a ton of fun. We mingled to shoot candids, decor and we set up our photo booth in record time for the guests.
In between speeches we popped out for a bit of "golden hour" photos. It's something we try to do with all of our couples at weddings. Just the two of them and us, to inject some romantic creativity.
Saying we really enjoyed ourselves at this truly unique wedding would be an understatement. Congrats to the happy couple!
