Well holy smokes, these two lovebirds finally got married! Anyone who knows them well have been waiting for this for a looooong time. We thought for sure that they'd surprise us at one of their yearly pig roasts that they used to host, or come back from a Vegas trip and say they got hitched. We were touched when Mike and Karen reached out to us first, before officially setting a date, to make sure that we were available. Of course we said yes and a date was set! They chose the anniversary of when they first met and planned their wedding in a few short months.
The ceremony took place in Bervie, Ontario, where they live. The tree they were married under represents the site of a former church where Mike's parents and grandparents got married. After doing a "first look" at their farm, they walked over to the ceremony site along with their four girls to join guests under the tree. Karen's father greeted them with a song as they arrived. Each one of their daughters played a specific role in the wedding celebration. It was really special to see them form a circle around Mike and Karen, culminating in a spontaneous group hug at the end.
We then traveled to the Kincardine waterfront for wedding party photos. It warmed our hearts to get a few with our family included as well. Afterwards, we headed over to the The Industry Room in the Walker House for dinner and drinks.
We love you guys and you mean a lot to us. It's been amazing to see our families grow together. Can't wait to see what future adventures await us!
